Long before I was even married, I started collecting books for children. Some of the first new books that went into my stash was a set by Dandi Daley Mackall.

I fell in love with her books because every one of them had such beautiful, sweet pictures, and simple stories. I hoped that one day I’d have a mini bookworm who would enjoy looking at the pictures and reading stories as much as I grew up doing!

Some dreams really do come true, because I am now lucky enough to be raising an adorable little bookworm who eagerly devours every book, whether or not it’s for toddlers!

This Easter, I’ve been looking for a book that was less about Easter Bunnies and more about The Easter Story. When I saw The Legend of the Easter Robin, I once again fell in love with the gorgeous illustrations. I’d never heard the legend of the Robin, and it sounded like the perfect thing to read for this Easter and Easter’s to come.

We really loved the story about the little robin family and the little girl who watched and worried over the nest and learned to trust God with the robin’s nest (and with her own future!).

The legend of the robin’s breast turning red was precious. It was just the thing I was looking for in an Easter story, and coupled with the paintings, and the rest of the story we found it to be just what we wanted. My toddler loved looking for the robin in each picture and asked to hear the story again and again, even after Easter!

Easter books are probably the hardest for me to find. So this coming year, I want a head start! I’d love to hear your favorites for little people of any age!
