We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things.
Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near.
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough.
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we’d have faith to believe.
Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise.
When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this world is not our home.
And what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise.

Thanks, Chantel! And thanks for following my humble blog. I’m a “newbie” at blogging but it’s fun for me as I love to write and am a very social person! :) I also enjoy reading blogs such as yours! Looking forward to getting to know you better!
Hello Chantel! I am a new follower to your blog. I just checked out your site, because I saw it was one followed by a dear friend of mine, you’d know her website as mrssouthernbride! She and I have similar tastes, so I checked out yours and I love you photography and the lyrics you posted for this blog were lovely! I have heard that song a lot on the radio as of late, and it’s beautiful.
Thanks for sharing with us! If you’re ever finding yourself with the time, please do stop in at my blog and even become a “follower” of mine, if you care to! You’ll find me at http://doveofsnow.blogspot.com I am a new blogger, relatively, but I am loving it! I think you’d enjoy it as I enjoy your blog!
Have a great day! — Rachel

Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words. I love this song and even though I haven’t written a lot of my own things lately, the quiet times taken to ponder other people’s words help to inspire my own again. :)
This is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing. *Hug!*
Love this song…and your blog! Great pics!

What a beautiful post! The combination of text and photos is like a poem in itself. I like the one with the railtracks especially – it’s such a special mood.
Thank you (must have taken you quite a lot of time…)! Martina
Thanks, Martina. It did take some time, but the pictures and the words were soothing so it was time well spent. :)
Those images are just beautiful!! Thank you for sharing. Hope you have wonderful day!
I echo the same sentiments posted above, a lovely song and beautiful photos to accompany!
Beautiful song, beautiful photos!
this is so beautiful Chantel. :) I’ve had that song [and a few others] playing over and over and over again for about the past week and a half. It’s amazing how a song can speak the cries of your heart. Thank you for this post!
Beautiful words and photos, Chantel.
Absolutely beautiful post. It reads like a song, and LeAnna said it is one. Now I need to find it so I can hear the accompanying music. :)
Thank you for sharing!
Cassandra
I actually heard this song for the very first time yesterday, and loved it.
Gorgeous photos, I especially love that last one!
A friend shared it with me a few months ago and some of those words have been echoing in my heart ever since. Especially this past week. :)
And thanks! I think that last one is quite possibly one of my most favorite reflection pictures that I’ve managed to take so far. I loved living by that old barn!
