Beautiful Song

Still Good Tidings

Every year, it seems a little darker. The world seems to be a more cruel and chaotic place. It feels harder to find the bright places.

Every year, it seems harder to see the stars through the clouds because the ashes of war and senseless loss hang thick in the sky. Even the glimmers seem a little more dim.

Every year, it feels easier to be a little more afraid and a little more broken. For all the things that can’t be healed and for all the beauty that is lost, the ache is deep.

But sometimes I think God still sends His angel to whisper into our hearts.

Through the song of a bird and the dance of fireflies at midnight. Through the pink of the sky the morning before the storm and the way the air feels fresh after rain. Through the hug of a friend and a note just because. In the feel of a warm cup of tea and a cozy blanket across our shoulders.

He knows our fears, and He still finds ways to whisper, “Don’t be afraid. There are still good tidings. There is still great joy.”
