If you haven’t already, check out the introduction to GreaThings 2010, and consider joining us by sharing what you are thankful for and the blessings you’ve been given this past year!
What I’m thankful for today:
Three years ago, as a part of GreaThings 2007, I shared a portion of scripture that meant a lot to me during that year just passed. So many things have happened between that day and today that sometimes it feels like that was a different lifetime than the one I’m living right now. But, even if many things have changed, Psalms 18 still holds a special place in my heart. That hasn’t changed.
Maybe it never will, for with every new thing that life brings in this journey, I can say today with even more certainty than I did three years ago, “As for GOD His way is perfect.”
It might not always make sense, the way He leads and the circumstances along that way. But truly, “It is GOD that girdeth me with strength“. Strength for every single thing that He allows, that He calls me to endure.
And as I choose His way, He makes “my way”…which really is His way, perfect. Beyond that, He gives in place of my stumbling, doubting, fearfully clumsy feet, the feet of a deer and sets me in “high places”. Places that only He could make possible and so beautiful.
Truly, He is my Rock and my Fortress.
And I am thankful for this promise and for being able to experience how perfect His way is compared to my own.
What GreaThings are you thankful for today?
God’s way is always perfect even though we may not see it at first. I like v29 of 18 :)
Psalms 18 is a beautiful passage of Scripture that I love too!
What a wonderful thing to be thankful for!
I’m thankful for my family today and our health.
…The word of the Lord is tried! I still have that one memorized and it is such a great passage of Scripture to hold onto, to repeat during difficult times, and to hide in our hearts. :)
