If you haven’t already done so, take time to read the official ‘declaration’ of Thanksgiving that our former President, Abraham Lincoln signed. It gives a glimpse into the reasons why Thanksgiving was established in the USA, and helps remind us what we should be celebrating when we gather together on Thanksgiving Day.

What I’m thankful for today:
I am thankful for the every day kind of things that so often I don’t even think about, but that day after day, my God faithfully supplies for me.
I am thankful for the energy that He gives me every morning to accomplish my duties and to do the things I need to do most, even on the days that I am tired and don’t feel like I can do it.
I am thankful that every single one of His bidings are enablings. He never asks me to do anything that He hasn’t already provided the strength and the ability to do.
I am thankful that He gives strength to endure. To hold on. To wait on Him to make all things beautiful in His perfect time.
I am thankful that God gives us “eagles’ wings“- with strength to rise above the challenges and temptations and with His power on our side, to rise above the clouds of doubt and sorrow to victory, to joy, to the sweet sunlight of His face.
