What I’m Thankful for today:
I’m thankful for rainy days. Sometimes the rain feels cold, and sometimes it feels dreary. But rain is necessary. It brings life, and makes the sunshine so much the more beautiful. So I’m thankful for rainy days. Both in my life this past year, as well as outside right now.
I’m thankful for raindrops that make rainbows. The token of an unbroken promise, they are so full of beauty. They light up the sky and remind us that God stands behind what He says. He never goes back on His word. I’m thankful for raindrops that look like so many diamonds on every leaf and every blade of grass after a rainstorm. They make my heart happy, and make me feel so very rich.
I’m thankful for real life. There’s bumps, there’s storms. There’s a few bruises and even some broken places, but I wouldn’t trade my real life for any imaginary one. It isn’t always an easy life, but it is more beautiful that anything I could have dreamed of.
I’m thankful for real riches. I might not have a lot or anything of value in the World’s eyes, but with Him, I have everything I need and so much more.
I’m thankful for random things. Unexpected, out of the ordinary little things- like getting a box of kleenex or a bag of chestnuts, or running into an old friend in town- that happen and bring smiles to my heart and face.
I am thankful for roses. Even when they are crushed, they only smell sweeter. May I be more like the rose….
